The PentOme Tree of Life
From awareness to understanding, experience and growth.
Start with a leaf. Follow it to the roots.
Bring what you already know, feel or wonder about. Touch a branch, the roots, rabbit, stones, seedling or fruit to find articles, deeper foundations and ways into your own exploration.

Choose a coloured branch above, or use the labelled routes below for roots, rabbit holes, stones, seeds and fruit.
The whole model
The trunk connects Awareness, The Five, the Core Matrix, Core Principles and the PentOme Process.
What brings you to the tree?
One experience can connect with several branches. The colours are perspectives, not diagnoses or fixed labels for people.
Looking for a particular term?
Search recognised terms, common names and abbreviations here too. NHS information stays separate from The Five and is shown regardless of your colour filter. Related leaves are optional ways into a conversation, not diagnostic criteria.
Principles, examples, research and older ways of looking.
Follow practical examples into the four Core Principles, then explore historical and symbolic traditions alongside research—with the connections clearly explained.
See the bird’s-eye view →Explore the living roots →Ancient & esoteric traditions →PentOme can be understood as a living knowledge system. It begins when something becomes noticeable, grows through enquiry and understanding, and becomes meaningful when knowledge meets lived experience.
The tree gives that enquiry a living image: shared roots, relationships between parts, growth and renewal. It also points toward PentOme’s deeper proposition about patterns within human beings and the wider world. Historical tree symbols have their own meanings; PentOme’s Tree expresses its contemporary teaching without replacing those histories.
Seed — Awareness
Something becomes noticeable: a thought, feeling, bodily signal, desire, behaviour, question, tension or possibility.
Roots — Foundations & Research
Understanding draws from deeper ground: nature, human experience, research, psychology, philosophy, language, culture, symbolism and traditions.
Trunk — The PentOme Model
Awareness, The Five, Core Matrix, Core Principles and PentOme Process provide a relatively stable structure for exploration.
Branches — Exploration
Questions spread outward. Who, what, where, when, why, how, if and what if can open different ways of looking at the same experience.
Leaves — Articles & ideas
Individual questions become articles, perspectives and connections. The library can keep growing without making the underlying model bigger.
Fruit — Personal development
Knowledge becomes useful through insight, understanding, acceptance, intention, action, change — or simply seeing something differently.
New seeds — Lived experience
Life continues. What happens next can be reviewed, noticed and understood. Experience returns to Awareness and another cycle can begin.
A tree can grow without losing its roots.
The Model changes slowly. Foundations can deepen as stronger sources and wider perspectives are found. Articles can branch into new human questions. Conversation can connect those ideas with an individual life. That separation lets PentOme grow without turning every new idea into a new part of the model.
Development is not simply becoming more. It can mean becoming more aware of what is present, what matters, what is changing, and how we choose to live with it.
Questions create branches.
Who? What? Where? When? Why? How? If? What if? These simple forms can open an apparently familiar subject in different directions. They are invitations rather than a formula: a way of letting curiosity create new branches without forcing every question into the same path.
Growth returns to Awareness.
Fruit is not a score. It may be insight, action, acceptance, rest, change, letting go or a clearer view. Whatever happens becomes part of lived experience. Review makes it possible to notice what happened — and that creates new seeds of Awareness.
